A beautiful purple striped bean that is said to have washed ashore to the Island of Wight from a shipwreck in the 18th century.  It has been grown by gardeners on the Island of Wight for many generations and still is today. Valuable as a dried bean, and quite gorgeous too! Navy Blue speckles on white seeds. Can be eaten as a snap when young. Productive bush type with purple flowers.
