"Montreal" Melon Seeds
Originally arrived with the first French settlers to Montreal. Discovered in the St.Anne's market in 1880 by W.Atlee Burpee. The original strain ended up cross pollinating with some other popular local melons and quickly became a region's treasure. It also became Canada and New England's favorite melon. It sadly became extinct by the 1920's…only to be brought back in 1995 when a couple of really old seeds were found at the Department of US Agriculture. These awesome muskmelons have tasty green flesh that has all sorts of complexity! Skin is green and netted like a cantaloupe.
